To buy the island, he raised about two and a half million pounds i.e. 25 million rupees through crowd funding and in the year 2019 he bought an island named Coffee Caye, which is spread over 1.2 acres. This island is near the Caribbean country Belize.
Actually, this island is shaped like a coffee bean, that is why it is named Coffee Kay. After this, Gareth and Marshall Meyer gradually started connecting people and also started the work of developing the island as a country. In no time, he made Coffee Kay Island a country and named it the Principality of Islandia. You will be surprised to know that now this country also has its own government, national flag as well as its own national anthem.
There are currently 249 citizens living in this country. He has paid Rs 1,500 to get citizenship of the Principality of Islandia. If you want, you can also get citizenship of this country and can also buy shares of the island. For this you have to pay 2 lakh rupees. After this you will also get the right to vote here.
