Saint’s name was Valentine
Valentine is mentioned in the book ‘Aurea of Jacobus de Varagin’. This day is celebrated all over the world in the name of a saint of Rome whose name was Valentine. It is said that Saint Valentine wanted to see love growing all over the world, but Emperor Claudius, the king of Rome, did not like this thing at all. Claudius felt that the Romans were not enlisting in the army because of their strong attachment to their wives and families.
Emperor put a stop to love
To enable people to enlist in the army in large numbers, King Claudius banned marriage in Rome. Saint Valentine opposed this order of Claudius. In protest, Saint Valentine got the officers and soldiers married. Angered by this protest of the saint, King Claudius hanged him on 14 February. It is said that February 14 is celebrated as the ‘day of love’ to remember Saint Valentine. (Disclaimer: The information and information given in this article is based on general beliefs.
